The Seal Colony is situated on the Robberg Nature Reserve, which is a 10-minute boat ride from Plett’s main beach. When you arrive at the seal colony they will welcome you by bounding toward the boat with their unmistakable glee, showing off their acrobatic skills. They are inviting you to join in!
The Brown Fur Seals are some of the gentlest of underwater mammals, and love to play. They are friendly and you will notice the pure joy they get out of your attention. They may even tug at your equipment and we suggest that you don’t tug back as it might frighten them.
The seal swimming adventure is very safe and the whole family can enjoy the experience. Children younger than 6 years old are able to view the seals from the boat while children older than 6 years old must be able to float.
